Our Match was the first girls quarter-final match that night. We really trained hard for this match since we’re facing another Sport Science students’ team (KTF team, what we call). Owh, you should see the players we’re playing, all the opposition team players were like 5ft 5 inch tall and above and we were all like dwarf next to them. One particular opposition player was like Shaq O’Neil (NBA Player). Two of the opposition players were National player for our Malaysian’s netball team. Most of the opposition players are ‘free hair’ and when it comes to girls futsal, free hair = v. Good player (especially when they’re form kolej tun Fatimah, KTF).haha
Before the match begins we all had butterfly in our tummy. Huhu. Seram siot.
Our first line-up was....
Abie (Keeper)
Me (Last Man)
Ira (2nd defence)
Ham (2nd striker)
Yan (Main Striker)
Substitutes : Fika, Totti and Fiza
We altered the line-up a bit, since Fiza (2nd striker) was injured during the last match with KTF. The main thing that we focused on this match is our strategy. We knew how the opponents style of play was, we’ve been observing them for quite sometime since the tournament began and of course the advantage was in their hands.
First Half
The first half was very good for us actually. We were the better team. We kept attacking and attacking. And one time, Yan managed to dribble the ball between two of the opponent players, both of them crash into each other and Yan kept on going until in front of the goal keeper and Yan scored.
We were leading 1-0!!!!
At that point I knew we could win this thing.
2nd Half
The 2nd half was quite hard to bear. The opposition team were attacking like mad. They kept attacking , attacking and attacking. But our defence was tough! Until the last 3 -4 minutes I think, when thee opposition Last Man, Mas dribble the ball from her part of half court until in front of me and Ira. She managed to shoot just in between us and I have to admit the shot was a beauty ( because it was just between me and Ira and not to mention the power of the shot, it was just flying between us!). Even Abie admits it was a great shot.
Huhu. All level 1-1
As the Last Man, you could see everything! And I mean everything! Everything that is happening in the court. In the 2nd half our players were clearly tired. Untill the end of the 2nd half, it was still level 1-1.
Extra Time
Lolipop weren’t attacking as much as the 2nd half. We were the once who kept attacking. And I can say that we had alot of good chances but Fika failed to finish it. I was quite disappointed with that cause most of it were just one on one with the opponents’ keeper. Owh well maybe it just wasn’t our night.
And the penalty time was to prove it.
Penalty
After extra time, we were still level 1-1. And I had the feeling that Lolipop wanted to drag us to penalty time. The players that has the liberty to take the penalty were the ones that were playing just before the extra time ended and that was... ira, fika, yan and me.. huhu.. and I had all the ‘badi’ for penalty.LOL. my shooting is power ful and strong (I have Siti and Abie for my referees for this fact) but it is just my aiming that is the problem. My shot kept going middle and when I aimed left or right it missed the goal post. I had 1 quarter-final, 1 semi-final and 1 final penalty experienced. And guess what, I missed it all(my shots were not off taget but the keeper managed to punch the ball somehow)!! Haha. So I told them I wanted to be the last penalty taker.
We lost 1-0 to penalty! Yess 1-0!! Only 1 goal managed to get behind the net. Ira, Fika and Yan all missed their penalty and for the opponents team, only Assunta (National team netball player) managed to score. I didn’t have to take the penalty since Yan (our 3rd penalty taker) missed the penalty.huhu
Conclusion
Our team did well. We managed to lead 1-0 until the 2nd half. We should have strengthens our defence and protect our lead but huhu... The strategy was to play 3 defence and Yan alone in the opponent’s territory but some of us forgot the strategy. Huhu. But still it was a good match.
This quarter final wasn’t the best quarter final for me. I had better! You should read my Friendster blog, I wrote it there (SUKAM- sukan antara kolej quarter final). For SUKAM quarterfinal, my team met KRP (Kolej Rahman Putra. They had 2 top players that played for lolipop). That was the best quarter final for me.

I forgot to mention the fact that the reff for our match (not just our match you see, other matches as well, and other team as well were complaining about the reff) didnt make some calls. Like pulling shirts by opponents, tackling (you cant tackle in futsal! this is not football), pushing and playing own-court ball at the start of the game! And then there were the penalty incident. I'm not gonna tell you more about it coz I'm just too tired now.
it turns out that there were only 2 reff who holds the futsal reff certificates. others none! no certificate! no wonder most of the reff were just like amatures who doesnt know the rules!
