Assalamualaikum w.b.t
It's the 21st of dec, and tonight there will be a football match between THE GUNNERS vs THE LIVER.. HOHO hopefully the best team (with is definately us liverpool) will win hehe.. its gonna be tough since its gonna be at The Emirates Stadium but never fear as our away records are much better than at Anfield anyway..
Another thing I'd like to mention here.. The Champions League next meeting have been drawn and guess what Liverpool FC is going to meet Real Madrid.. hmm dunno what to say about that. I'm not sure to say that we're lucky to get that draw or not haha.. Real is the most team to win the title, but then again they are in much crisis right now. And I am a bit relief that we didnt get to entertain Inter or Juve or Barca haha. Inter looks like a big contender to win the title this season, they do have Mourinho you know. Hate to admit it but he does have that strong aoura or vibes like 'Mawi' haha..
ahh enough about football..
today, I would like to share to you my holiday creations.. haha. This Semester Holidays, I've been spending most of my time finishing my Gundam Models. I LOOOOOOVEEE MY GUNDAM COLLECTION.. its not a big collection yet but it will be. Its a new hobby that I discovered during the holidays hehe.

Liverpool Liverpool liverpool you've done it AGAIN!
Assalamualaikum w.b.t...
ok ok ok Liverpool fans our team have done it..... AGAIN!... we had the opportunity to extend our leads on Chelsea but we get a draw instead..huhu
Liverpool FC vs Hull City... a beautiful game it was... at least for the first half of the whole MATCH!.. yeah 1st half was a blast.. eventho Liverpool have so many chances and not 1 got in for the first 20 minutes and instead Hull got 2 over us, but steven Gerrard and his men got back in the game and get it to draw to 2-2 before the end of the first half. Everyone knew we were the Come Back King!! everytime we got behind by a goal, we strive back into the game and at the end winning it huhu but not this time... when we got behind by 0-2, we never stop attacking and I can tell you we could've gotten 3 or more goals instead of just 2. we had soo many opportunity on target but Hull City were totally lucky!..
They got away a point from anfield.. even Man U couldn't have done that LOL..
HAHAHA..Okay maybe I was too hard on LIv, we're still ahead of chelsea by a point.Well anyway, not only Hull City were lucky, we also are lucky to have ManU, Chelsea and Arsenal all got only 1 point this week.... next match will be with Arsenal, hopefully we'll get 3 points!!
I really really really hope we're going to win the title this season... GO GO GO LIVERPOOL..
Jamie way of celebrating a goal... at the wrong side of the field!!.. better luck next time
Just a tip for Jamie, when u r facing ur own goal post in this position, clear the ball using ur LEFT FOOT not ur right foot.lol

SUPERNATURAL...i'm officially obbsesssed..again!
Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
Once again, i'm here.. last time I did a review on a movie and before that I reviewed books. This time its gonna be a DRAMA or SERIES whatever you call it.huhu
I never watched Supernatural 1 and I got my hands on Supernatural 2 from a friend of mine. I copy the dvd into my laptop and had it been sitting in my laptop for ages before my semester break. I only had the time to actual 'comitted' (lol) to the 2nd year series during the may 2008 semester break, so starting from then I got HOOKED!.. WOW!
Okay, just like most english series (e.g House M.D, Dr. Martin, Early Edition) Supernatural series is not 'continous' type of series. By 'not continous' type of series, I mean its not the kind of drama that you need to see the previous episode to understand the next episode. Each episode have its own 'new story line' but still you need to follow each of the episode to learn the main question in the series. Got it? hehe well it may be a bit confusing but stay with me here.huhu
Okay before I continue with the series synopsis let me say something here.. May 2008 was wayyyyy wayy wayy back. What got me to write this entry is that I got HOOKED again! for the second time.haha. My friend bought Supernatural 3 in october 2008 just before we finish our final exam, so I copy the whole series again haha and watched the whole season 3 after final exam.. And it was shocking for me to find that I'm way eager to finish the season 3 compare to may 2008 when I was so eager to finish season 2. Usually for me, when it comes to english series, the previous season is more exciting than the new season (e.g Roswell, Heroes). Supernatural is really different!
Supernatural is about a couple of siblings Dean and Sam Winchester who are like ghost hunters.. well demon hunters to be exact!
In almost every episode, the story starts like this, Sam and Dean read a newspaper article/ the news on tv that have something to do about a weird murder or tragic suicide thats just plan weird/ unexplanable.. the quickly drive to the crime scene, pretended to be the detective covering the case and ask several questions to any witnesses in the crime scene. They figured out what they are facing (either demons, or changelings, witches, or any other weird harmful evil creatures with amazing powers) and then they try to destroy it with whatever powerful weapons they have. In the series, there are also several other demon hunters who constantly help dean and sam.
Bela Tabot.. sometimes good and sometimes evil..human by the way huhu

Season 3 was great i think coz there was a lot of twist and turns, for example there is this one demon who turns out to be good named Ruby. I dont know if she has other evil motives in the upcoming season but soo far she's the only helpful demon we have in supernatural.huhu
Cant wait for season 4, which is currently airing in america. cant wait you tube!

Ruby... the demon who helped dean and sam alot.. before she become a demon, she was a human and a witch.. she died and went to hell (as I was told haha) and become a demon.. How did she got out of Hell? u have to watched the drama yourself.

Breaking Dawn

I loved the first three books. I have always been a fan of Bella and Edward, but I liked how Meyer introduced the Jacob/Bella dynamic to show the complexity of relationships, and that love means SACRIFICE and making a CHOICE. Plot, character, and substance related issues I've had with the series were compensated by the message I believed Meyer wanted to make--Bella choosing to give up a normal life (and everything that comes with it) in order to be with Edward.
Now, I don't know what message the author wanted to say or what she was thinking.
(Spoilers Below)
Bella didn't have to sacrifice anything apparently. She gets Edward AND a baby AND immortality as a vampire. What about poor Jake--not a problem, he IMPRINTS on the baby, which I find disturbing not so much because it is a baby (though that is creepy just as it was with Quil) but because it's Edward and Bella's baby. Can we say cop out? Life doesn't turn out so neatly. People love and lose (and don't fall for the object of their affection's daughter). But in Meyer's world everyone is one big happy family.
So, girls don't worry. If you have problems, they will ALL work out. Is that what the author wants to tell her fans?
Or is it marriage and family by 18 are the way to go, forget about college, developing as a person, all you need is a husband and a child. No disrespect to people who marry at 18, but Meyer paints a glorified picture of the situation; most 18 years old aren't going to have an endless supply of money and never worry about how the lack of an education will affect their future. Yes, this is a novel, a fantasy, we shouldn't expect or require realism--then why go the mommy route at all? Just focus on Bella and Edward. Bella didn't want children, yet when she finds out she's pregnant she doesn't even freak out; she's carrying a vampire's child and it's just "my heart had grown, swollen up to twice its size in that moment."
Or is the author's message be passive and let others take care of you (what if there is no one else--no, no, girls, there is ALWAYS someone). One of my big issues with the series is how Bella has never had outside interests beyond Edward (or Jake), that she's not an independent person. I hoped Meyer would finally have Bella come into her own in this book, have her lack of personality be the result of high school immaturity or something, but obviously the author thinks a person's entire existence should be defined by others, not themselves. Another great message--not.
Don't even get me started on Bella's power. Again, another major opportunity to strengthen Bella's character is wasted. Also, the explanation of why Edward can get Bella pregnant is ridiculous considering the rules Meyer originally established for her world. The story may be dealing with supernatural/fantastic elements, but it still has to have internal consistency.
I wanted and expected a happy ending. I wanted Bella to become a vampire. I wanted there to be a resolution with Jake. I wanted and expected the Volturi to return. I also expected an intense exploration of pain, sacrifice, vampire Bella having to cope with giving up her family/old life. I wondered if Charlie and Renee would find out--wouldn't it be odd if their child just disappeared--and though a parent does find out (sort of), it was hardly the way I imagined it, especially with the way "newborn" Bella played out.
I wanted Jake angst about her being changed, him maybe not accepting her at first (or at all) but him coming to deal with it in some fashion so you felt there was closure at the end. I would have been fine with Jake moving on, but not with Edward and Bella's daughter.
Finally, why must Bella get everything? So much for a powerful message, I guess.
"You can't expect a message with vampires and werewolves!" I disagree. The best fantasy, horror, and science fiction stories all have a morality/deeper element to them. Fairy tales, as they were originally designed, were meant to teach children a valuable lesson. This does not (and should not) lessen the entertainment value of a story, but I think it's a cop out to say "it's a fantasy," as if that excuses anything. If you look at Lord of the Rings, The Hero and the Crown, The Phantom Tollbooth, The Last Unicorn, Harry Potter, Stoker's original Dracula novel, The Prydain Chronicles, The Little Prince--all of them deal with themes of sacrifice, choice, gaining wisdom, growing as a person, and/or are thought provoking/contain deeper messages.
Sure Twilight began as a dream, but three other books have followed it. Even getting away from message issues, I still have a problem with the plot and character developments of Breaking Dawn.

Reader's Digest
This is one of my favourite magazine published nowadays. You dont get much of these type of magazines now.
Usually when I'm out with my friends shoping, I'd like to stop by a book shop while they busy searching for stuff to buy.
The magazine section isn't my first stop, but its the novel section that caught me first. yeah! I like to read novels, ok everybody knows that. After surfing through the new books there I will move on to the autobiography part. hmm I wonder when is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is going to have a new autobiography book. It would be interesting. For your information, Tun Mahathir already has an illustrated autobiography book out in MPH book store. It's RM15 only. You should get it, as i am not much of a fan of Tun Mahathir but the book looks interesting with his version of cartoon illustrated.hoho
Anyway back to the topic. My last stop at the book store would be the magazine section. The section is filled with teen magazines with a non-local artist story at the frontpage. Dont get me wrong, I like people/human interest kind of story but you do get tired when its all the gossip that you've heard all week right?

What I like about readers digest?
Mostly the 'miracle story' part. Thats what I named it. haha. The story that featured in that section is too good to be true but guess what, it's TRUE! I've read about a fireman who went into coma for ten years and woke up one day to find his 6 year old son is now a grown up teenager. And I've also read about how a mexican illegal immigrant kid who cross border to the United State and worked as a low paid farmer and studied his butt off to become a nerosurgeon now! The stories in it really inspired me.
Those kind of stories really push you through your toughest moments in life. And it doesnt hurt you to spend just 15 malaysian dollar to get the magazine and read it.

THE NAME OF THE ROSE - UMBERTO ECO

ok, let begin with my first book review here..
The book I've long for to read. it's quite an old book written by Umberto Eco. Maybe not many of you have heard of this author. He's very much into philosophy. Another book of his that you guys should consider reading is, Focults pendulum. I havent read that yet but my friend said its a great book. It triggers your mind. :-)
The young Brother Adso of Melk recounts the events that took place when he was assigned to assist the peculiar but well-respected Brother William of Baskerville in the politically charged task of ferreting out heresy in the monastic orders of the day. The two arrive at a small Italian abbey with a reputation for its wealth in relics and manuscripts. In a few days' time, the abbey becomes the site of a tense debate over the role of poverty in monastic life. Brother William's sharp detection skills become invaluble when the bodies of dead monks begin to appear on a daily basis, apparently following a pattern of apocalyptic prophecy. Adso and William find themselves lost in a community where secrecy and enlightenment, superstition and reason, church and state, and power and compassion become desperately confused. The abbey becomes a microcosm of the very rifts that threaten to tear Christendom--and civilization itself--apart, and at the very heart of this strained social fabric is a fanatically guarded library full of mirrors, trick doors, ghosts, demonic visions, forbidden books, and the key to the deaths that lie like a humorless darkness over the entire monastery grounds.
Set during a week in 1327, Eco's novels finds in the fusion of ecclesiastic history and mystery a chance to explore some of the most fundamental issues of any period of taxing social change. It also explores the importance of symbols and logical debate. The stylistic strength of the book is the resultant combination of rich descriptive detail (especially when it comes to the art and architecture of the Medieval Church) and philosophy (as seen in the impassioned debates over heresy). Although obviously literary, The Name of the Rose benefits from being a mystery novel, using intrigue, adventure, carefully executed pacing, and suspense to propel the story forward. A careful balance is struck between the honest depiction of complexity and the human desire to make things make sense. And politics--simply understood as the social use of power--is exposed as all-pervasive in that balancing process. The book has an incredibly broad appeal, being a highly respected canonical work at the same time as it is an international bestseller.

Hancock (4 stars out of 5)
Last week I borrowed a whole lot dvds from my friend, yen. I thought I'd find some time watching dvds on my laptop. huhu. And just yesterday I managed to watched one of the movies. I just pick randomly from the many dvds I borrowed and I just happened to pick Hancock. yeah! not too bad. I usually get easily bored after 10 minutes watching a movie but not this time.

The Movie is about John Hancock (Will Smith) who possessed a strong powers without knowing how he had all those powers. Well, he actually lost all his memories in an accident. He didnt know how to control his powers and use it without hurting the public or damaging the public property. But of course like any other superheros, he helped alot of people, but most people that he had help do not thank him for what he did for obvious reason of course he somehow get alot of things damaged.
at one of the scenes when hancock saves a whale! see! not only that he helped human, he also help the animals..huhu
One day he had help this guy who was trap on a railway track, and lucky Hancock! the guy he saved is a PR! and he helped hancock learn how to control his powers and change his attitude towards the public. And then alot of things happened and there is a twist to Hancock personal identity which relates him to the guy that he saved previously. I'm not gonna tell you all about it, you have to watch it urself. ; )
What I like about the movie is that, its not like the usual superhero movies where alot of things get damaged when the super hero and the villan starts to throw things around and then after the huge fight, nobody complaints about the damaged? the civilian that get hurt? theres no govmnt eh? huhu sometimes a superhero movie needs to get real! realistic for once! huhu
The movie is also quite funny.. I'd give the movie 4 out of 5 stars..

Liverpool FC
assalamualaikum w.b.t
huhu my other obesession beside reading is... well guess what its football. I am a HUGE Liverpool FC fan, so I am so excited at the moment since we ARE leading the table eventho only one point away from Chelsea. Hopefully we can keep the lead until the rest of the season... then WE WILL WIN THE EPL TITLE!!!!!.. it has been ages since we last won the title..
Last night I stayed up to watched Liv vs Blackburn... it was a must win situation for us really since Chels were meeting Bolton, and for sure Chels men will get their full 3 points there. We played WELL, in the 2nd half that is. not the first half.. the first half was terrible i think.. we only had one chance from Youssi Benayoun. I must say, huge credit for Youssi he did brilliantly for the entire game esp 2nd half. No Torres!! he's not fit yet i think... we had Kyut up front.. he was nothin much huhu. We also had Steven Gerard, Xabi Alonso who I must say did brilliantly for our first goal. I'd give credit also to Mascherano! Great signing he is!
On 9th Dec, we will meet PSV Eindhoven for Champions League.. Make sure you tune in and cheer for LIV!!!

Twilight on BIg Screen!!
Assalamualaikum w.b.t..
huhu here I am again..doing review on any things that I can get my hands on and read.. and guess what, its Uni holidays.. so yeah, I read and read and read tons of novels.. Currently I am burried under Sam Bourne's The Last Testament.. I bought it at MPH in Alamanda Putrajaya.. at the front cover of the book, the Daily T says its the closest rival to Dan's Brown so that what got me to pick up the book. I never read any of Sam Bourne's before.. I miss Dan Brown soo much! God, when is his next Robert Langdon series coming up?! I hate waiting and waiting..

Anyway, thats not what I'm typing here for today... Did you know that Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is ON THE SCREEN!!!! arghh I hate being in Bintulu, the cinema is so small and the current BIG HIT movie is NOT SHOWINGG!!..huhu
Well anyway, the epidemic is back again! what epidemic you ask? the 'big hit book turned into big screen' epidemic..duh! ever since Harry Potter and The Socerer's stone first came into the screen... and then LOTR (Lord of The Ring).. both had great reviews especially LOTR (and Orlando Brown haha).. then came the sequal which werent as great.. and so as the third one..

And then there were the famous 'cryptology mistery' and of course I mean Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.. You see, I read the book before the movie came out and I have 2 words for u to describe the movie.. "HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT"..huhu.. well I guess I expect alot from it to be as great as the book, and what made my expectation sky rockets was that I heard Tom Hank was playing Robert Langdon!!!.. I thought he was THE BEST candidate for the character.. but then again after watching the movie, I was very dissappointed.. I thought that Sophie Neveu character was okay but Robert Langdon could be better.. someone younger perhaps? or maybe older a bit, only he looks more younger? maybe George Clooney? hehe. Maybe not really a 'Historian Dr Lecturer' type but owh well..
Back to Twilight.. I havent watch the movie yet.. I'm not gonna get my expectation too high this time around and huh! its hard not to expect something when u've read the book.. huhu
